Overview

Alan Mazzetti’s paintings are simplified, representational images of his surrounding urban environment. Color, texture, pattern, and shape are as important as the original image, the language as meaningful as the message. Mazzetti uses abstracted elements to express abstract ideas – concepts of time, space, motion and perception. He shifts his perspective, looking at things differently still using his compulsion to make an image of his physical source.

A career in graphics taught Mazzetti to search for the fundamental elements when designing logos or illustrating a story. These elements are now applied to the artist’s compositions daily. The artist has exhibited from Washington D.C. to the West Coast including the Crocker Museum. He has earned “Best of Show” and placed in the top three in several juried exhibitions.
