Daniel Phill
Daniel Phill is drawn to the interplay of an optimistic color palette against a placid background which creates surreal, vibrant botanical environments. His work achieves spontaneity while playing with the boundaries of abstraction and representation. Extended drips of paint serve to imply stems while gestural paint-loaded brushstrokes suggest petals and blossoms.
The artist received a Bachelor of Fine Arts at San Francisco Art Institute and continued on to earn a Masters of Fine Art at Stanford University. He has shown in many solo exhibitions and is very well collected across the United States.
"I aim to create images that are organic and evolving, playing between the boundaries of abstraction and representation."
