Eve Steccati
The inherent transparency of watercolor lends itself to the expression of transience and connectivity in the world around us. The ever-changing, fleeting nature of our environment, whether over a single earthly season or over the eons, is celebrated in Eve Steccati’s art. The variety of nature is boundless, yet Eve’s watercolors reflect the immense and disparate scope of the natural world in subtle, unexpected and intimate ways: Translucent granite boulders rotate in space. Decaying leaves and petals native to different parts of the globe reveal their beauty even as they disintegrate and crumble. Sun-parched bones cross paths in death as they never could in life. Ancient fossils are captured within gleaming amber for eternity. Winged seeds and birds take flight together, airborne through the sky.
Eve Steccati’s education includes the California College of the Arts in Oakland, CA. where she received the CCAC Scholarship and earned her BFA in Graphic Design. She continues her connection with the CCAC as a member of the Alumni Council. She is chair of the CCA Alumni Exhibition Group.
Steccati’s art is included in private collections and has also been commissioned by many companies and organizations including: Expedia, Scholastic, American Museum of Natural History and the U.S. Department of State.
