Mirang Wonne’s Unbound show is a unique opportunity to view many of the prolific artist’s explorations upon her signature style of torch painting on stainless steel mesh. Showing together in Unbound are works from several of Wonne’s series, Alchemy, Capturing Light, Dream Butterfly, Ocean Light and the Tidal series. Wonne’s preferred medium of stainless steel mesh has the unique property of transparency, which when layered over painted canvas, arches paper or a second layer of stainless mesh creates a mesmerizing sense of depth and unexpected beauty. By adding and combining various other mediums to her work such as acrylic, cold wax, charcoal drawing and genuine gold leaf, Wonne shows her wide ranging artistic skills and that she is a restless artistic explorer.
