Kristen Benson is an artist known for her abstract paintings on canvas. Her work explores her fascination with light and nature combined to symbolize abundance and the generation of new life and new ideas. The artist earned her BA in Art at Humboldt State University.

“I am drawn to the land and light of this wild place. Having learned to walk in the local woods, I still wander, to be immersed in the larger frame of mind and physical body present, and to perceive/receive that which is. From this echo which resonates, I paint to (create) play with patterns, rhythms, palettes, and luminosity that pull me. I have studied the art of Aikido for over 35 years. This practice has created a knowing of connective spirit, balance, and energy that impassions my work in abstract form.”
