Join us in celebrating a painter as renowned as he is prolific. An artist who has participated in and influenced critically lauded and popular movements, Roland Peterson is now in his seventh decade of creating, and we are fortunate enough to be presenting not only works from his retrospective but as well two pieces from 2021. He has worked steadily beginning in the 1950s right into and through the trials of the pandemic, and his most recent works reflect his unique focus.
Contributing to, deconstructing, and helping to reinvent poignant genres, he has called such greats as Wayne Thiebaud and Hans Hofmann contemporaries. Bold application of color theory and combinations of still life, figure, and landscape painting signifies a passion he tirelessly hones, and now for his 95th birthday, we are honored to call attention to this talent.
