The Haute Sculpture Spring Show features many of The Studio Shop Gallery’s accomplished haute sculpteurs et haute sculptrices, in a variety of mediums and a variety of styles. The exhibition includes Kristine Taylor’s realistic animal figures cast in bronze and finished in a variety of patinas. Abstracted figures are represented by Steven Lustig who sculpts in traditional stone and James Hill who works with sleek and sensuous stainless steel. Joan Benefiel casts her human figures in semi-transparent colored resin which appear to glow from within. On the playful side, Fred Yokel creates a series of whimsical characters, both human and animal. For abstract sculptural forms look to Jim Keller’s cast bronze and Gary Traczyk’s kinetic sculptures. Inspired by patterns seen in molecular biology, Lawrence Morrell creates glass wall sculpture that synthesizes cellular images into imaginary patterns. To fully experience sculpture’s three dimensions, you are invited into the gallery to view and explore.
